Mules Release 3rd Album: Romp in the Swamp!
Miracle Mule’s 3rd album, Romp in the Swamp, officially launched on March 5, 2022 at a sold-out album release party at Rancho Nicasio. The band was on its game, clearly fired up by the opportunity to play for so many friends and fans. “First off, I just want to give you all a heartfelt thank you for showing up and making this event so special,” said Mules fearless leader Geoff Mack. “The energy in that room was indescribable, and from the stage, we all felt it. It was a great night. Looking out at the crowd there were so many friendly faces!“ One new fan, who saw us there for the first time, sent this note to their friends who had invited him: “They’ve got their vocals down pat, the musicians blend smoothly and their interaction with the crowd melted me. I was mesmerized by the band – specifically the lead singer gal.” That lead singer gal, of course, is our own Sandy Geller.
The Mules had been hard at work in the studio over the last two years (or is it three?) and the result is eleven hoof-stompin’ Mules originals plus a swampy-tonk version of the Hank Williams classic, Cold Cold Heart. The originals include a number of tunes that are already familiar staples in the Miracle Mule repertoire: They Don’t Want No Train, Delta Queen, Bourbon Street, Mule On, and of course the title track, Romp in the Swamp. The Mules are rightly proud of their latest collection and it won’t take you long to see why.
If you didn’t make it to the release party, you can still get in on the fun. Romp in the Swamp is available for purchase, download and streaming through all your favorite outlets, including Amazon and Spotify. Or you can pick up a copy at the next Miracle Mule show (keep an eye on this website for upcoming listings or sign up for our newsletter to keep tabs on where we — and Romp in the Swamp — will be popping up next).
An excellent collection of upbeat songs performed by stellar musicians. One of the best things about the Mules is the three very distinctively different voices that can blend together seamlessly. And as together and precise as the voices [are], the music is equally as tight. The musicianship is excellent from top to bottom. The songs are really good -- very whimsical, in the vein of Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks. This was just what I needed. – Ken C., Saugus MA
